George Floyd’s name is known worldwide. He was murdered by a police officer in Minneapolis, U.S. in May 2020. His death sparked the largest racial justice protests in the U.S. since the Civil Rights Movement and inspired a global reckoning with racism. Crossing continents and cultures, George Floyd’s death became a symbol of continued racial intolerance and injustice.
