Gender and inclusion in humanitarian and development programmes have gone through multiple iterations over the years; from gender mainstreaming to gender-sensitive to gender-transformative action and from women’s consultation to participation, empowerment and leadership. Similarly, topics like youth, disability, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, trans, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ+), or Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) are also meant to be brought into the mainstream. Are you feeling dizzy? Can’t keep up? Do you know how to include these different identity groups? Is it really possible to “leave no one behind?”
In this session, we will unpack some of the key terms used and explore how to deliver meaningful, transformational programmes.
