Job Summary: 

Includovate is looking for a passionate feminist with experience in research, international development, and project management. The Senior Project Manager is part of Includovate’s PM team. They will be a coordinator of multiple short and long term projects to ensure resource optimisation, economies of scale and alignment with overall business goals. They will work with researchers on national and global projects to plan and implement their assignments on time and budget. You will be a team player willing to work hard and pay attention to detail. You are highly organised and good at multitasking because we need you to deliver an outstanding ‘Client Experience’ by ensuring projects are delivered to a high quality, with clear and regular communication so our clients return for more business.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

Project Management: 

– Coordinates implementation of projects across the project cycle, from inception to close-out

– Consistently and effectively uses Includovate’s project management platform and processes to implement and monitor projects.

– Maintains meticulous records and files, including minutes of meetings, records meetings, and circulates these to everyone involved in the project on daily basis.

– Maintains bird’s eye visibility over all projects in their portfolio to ensure timely execution and project profitability.

– Monitors project risks and takes risk mitigation actions as necessary.

– Ensures that all communications and changes from the client are looked at from resource optimisation perspective as well as overall project completion.

– Monitors the various stages within each project, including documenting feedback and comments received from the client.

– Collaborating with research leads to adequately respond to at-risk deliverables, including re-directing resources, liaising with clients, and personally lending assistance where necessary. –

– Builds and manages strong client relationships, including participating in client interviews for newprojects, and coordinating client communications on active projects.

– Coordinates with other units, including Finance, IT, Human Resources etc., as needed to ensure timely project delivery.

– Regularly communicates with senior leadership and escalates issues where appropriate.

– Conducts project reviews with a view to ensure client-centric delivery.

–  Completes donor reporting, where necessary.

– Organises learning and sharing events and manages logistics of such events and attends in-person and remote meetings.

– Organises and updates the status summary reports of all the projects on a weekly basis. 

Quality Assurance and Research:

 Conducts appropriate quality assurance on deliverables to ensure professional and engaging presentation of information, sound analysis, defensible conclusions, and consistent adherence to Includovate branding and quality. This means you are expected to have excellent google doc/microsoft word formatting skills.

– Where necessary, review research duties associated with one or more research projects, including revising literature reviews and quality checking analysis, fieldwork and other data that feeds into research reports.

– Contribute to the development and execution of organisational goals, including assisting with training, capacity building, and systems development activities.

– Develop and review budgets using google sheets/microsoft excel and be familiar with setting up formulas and developing graphs.

– Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiencies and business process improvement.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Masters degree in business, development studies, economics, education, geography, law, management, planning, public administration, or sociology.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience with minimum 5 years of experience in managing a project with multiple team members/partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects at different stages of the project management cycle.
  • Proficiency in Google suite applications and using software to manage projects.
  • Strong organisation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • FluencyinEnglish.
  • Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, Scrum, PMP) an advantage.
  • Ability to read and develop spreadsheets, manage budgets and adhere to organisational and donor policies/procedures.

Work conditions: 

  • Work Location: Remote working with excellent flexibility, successful candidates need to have a computer/ laptop with high-speed internet connection.
  • Employment Type: Contractual Part time or full time.
  • Work hours: Flexible working arrangements apply, with some work falling outside core business hours to accommodate time zone differences.
