 Alor Steven is an accomplished economist and consultant with over 8 years of experience in research and organisational development. He is passionate about his work, driven by Steve Jobs’s quote, “The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” Alor’s professional expertise includes economic analysis, research methodology, and program management.

 He received his Bachelor’s degree in economics and a Master’s in economic policy and planning from Makerere University, where he is completing his final research. Previously, Alor worked as a research fellow with Cardno Partners Consult-Uganda, where he gained valuable experience in project management and team leadership. He also served as the Country Director for the African Council of Small Businesses and Entrepreneurship, where he led initiatives to promote entrepreneurship and economic development in Africa.

 Alor also has experience in humanitarian and foreign aid work, volunteering with organisations like Life Worth Vision as a Foreign Aid and Overseas Partner Volunteering Officer. He is also the country coordinator for African Venture-Norway-Kubo Capital. Throughout his career, Alor has taken several short courses to develop his skills and knowledge in a variety of areas, including Econometric modelling, M&E, Grant proposal writing, Budget monitoring and budget analysis, Research Methods, Computing Skills, and the Measurement of Efficiency in Public Sector Organizations, Climate Change Science, and Modelling of Biophysical Impacts.

 Outside of work, Alor is an active volunteer who has given his time and expertise to various organizations and causes, including Life Worth Vision. He is also a member of several professional organizations, including the Uganda Economic Society, and enjoys hobbies like hiking and reading. Alor is proud of his accomplishments and looks forward to future opportunities to promote economic development and social change in Africa and beyond.
