Alemi Desta is an Associate Researcher at Includovate. She graduated with LLB Degree with the First High Class and was awarded a Gold Medal; she also graduated with LLM/Master of Law from Addis Ababa University. 

She is passionate about rendering justice for indigent and marginalised groups of society like children, women, and persons with disability. She started her journey of realising her passion when she was a third-year law student by being elected President of the Female Student Association and advocating for ‘Zero Tolerance’ against sexual harassment in university.

 Besides that, she is an alumnus of YALI Cohort 31 and ONE Champion East Africa, whereby she developed her leadership skills by serving her community.

She has taught different law courses, including ‘Gender and the Law’ at Debre Berhan

University for the last 6-7 Years. She also worked as Senior Researcher at Frontieri Consult, Ethiopia, whereby she extensively engaged in different research works. Alemi can speak three Languages, Afaan Oromoo, Amharic, and English.
