Suruchi Upadhyay Dhakal is a development professional with over eight years’ experience in business development, proposal strategy, partnerships, and programme management within international development, with expertise spanning gender equality and social inclusion.
She has successfully led over 500 technical and financial proposals, securing more than USD 3 million in funding for clients such as UNICEF, WFP, Plan International, Mercy Corps, Light for the World, Save the Children, and other international NGOs and donor agencies. Her portfolio includes high-profile projects funded by the ADB, DFID, IFAD, and World Bank, where she has demonstrated strong capabilities in donor compliance, strategic budget oversight, and coordinating multi-stakeholder initiatives across geographies.
Alongside business development, Suruchi has managed large-scale programmes across Asia, Africa, and Europe for organisations including UNFPA, the Austrian Development Agency, CARE Ethiopia, and the Global Water Partnership. She has strengthened organisational effectiveness by embedding business development systems, streamlining workflows, mentoring cross-functional teams, and forging high-value partnerships.
